Konsol ini menggunakan cip mikropemproses Signetics 2650A yang merupakan cip mikropemproses 8-bit. Ciri unik konsol ini ialah ia mempunyai kuasa bekalan yang tersedia di dalam konsol, berbanding dengan konsol-konsol sebelum itu yang mempunyai kuasa bekalan yang teletak di luar konsol[1].
