NGC 3621 — სპირალური გალაქტიკა დედამიწიდან 22 მილიონი სინათლის წლის მანძილზე,[1][2] ჰიდრას თანავარსკვლავედის მიმართულებით. შედარებით კაშკაშაა და ადვილად დასანახია საშუალო ზომის ტელესკოპებით. გალაქტიკის დიამეტრი 93 000 სინათლის წელია და კიდედან შეხედვისას დახრილია 25°-ით. მისი ნათება მზეზე 13 მილიარდჯერ კაშკაშაა.[3] მორფოლოგიური კლასიფიკაციით, ჩვეულებრივი სპირალური გალაქტიკაა თავისუფალი, უსწორმასწორო მკლავებით.[4][5] არ შეენიშნება ამოზნექილობა.[6] გალაქტიკა ეულია, სხვა გალაქტიკებისგან იზოლირებული.[5][3]

NGC 3621-ს გააჩნია აქტიური ბირთვი, რომელიც სეიფერტის გალაქტიკათა ჯგუფის ოპტიკურ სპექტრს ემთხვევა, რაც იმაზე მიუთითებს, რომ ცენტრში წარმოდგენილია დაბალმასიანი სუპერმასიური შავი ხვრელი. ბირთვში მოძრავ ვარსკვლავებზე დაკვირვებით შეიძლება იმის ვარაუდი, რომ ამ ობიექტის მასა სამი მილიონი მზის მასის ტოლია.[6]
