La unua mencio devenis el 1279 en formo Vysonta. En la 1960-aj jaroj oni trovis ligniton, kiun oni minas surface. Baze de tio centralo ekfunkciis, kies nomo estis Gagarin. Iom for oni kultivas vinberon.
