Vilmos Karczag [vilmoŝ karcag], laŭ hungarlingve kutima nomordo Karczag Vilmos estis hungara verkisto, teatrestro. Lia origina nomo estis Kramer Farkas Lipót ĝis 1881, lia edzino estis Juliska Kopácsy, lia persona nomo en Aŭstrio estis Wilhelm.

Vilmos Karczag[1] naskiĝis la 28-an de aŭgusto 1857 en Karcag (Hungara reĝlando, Aŭstra Imperio), li mortis la 11-an de oktobro 1923 en Baden bei Wien (Aŭstrio) (aliaj fontoj mencias aliajn malsamajn datenojn!).

Biografio

Vilmos Karczag devenis el juda familio. Li maturiĝis en gimnazio en Debrecen, ekde 1876 li studis en aktorlernejo, kiun la kelkfojaj soldatservoj interrompis. Ekde 1877 li verkis teatraĵojn, pli malofte romanojn. Inter 1879–1891 li estis vicredaktoro en Debrecen, en 1890 li edziĝis. En 1891 li partoprenis en fondo de gazeto en Budapeŝto. En 1901 li moviĝis al Vieno, kie li estis posedanto de Theater an der Wien, ekde 1908 de Raimund Theater, inter 1917-1919 de Stadttheater. Tiuj teatroj prezentis plej ofte operetojn. Li ricevis la francan Honoran legion en 1912.
