Stako laŭ PIV estas

  1. altamaso da grenpajlo, kunrastita fojno, garboj aŭ dehakitaj ŝtipoj;
  2. amaso da samformataj objektoj, metitaj unu sur la alian (ekzemple stako da libroj aŭ da teleroj);
  3. stako (komputado) estas inversvica memoro; datumstrukturo en kiu eblas aldono kaj depreno de datumoj, ĉiam estas atingebla nur la plej ĵuse aldonita datumo (el la ankoraŭ ne deprenitaj)[1]

Stakigi signifas fari stakon el iu materialo.
