Prokonsulo
La posteno je Prokonsulo apartenis al la romia juro ekiĝinta por la provinca administrado per delegado de la konsulo.
La funkcioj de la konsuloj, plivastiĝinte la teritorio, estis delegitaj por ĉiu provinco: unue la insulaj kvestoroj kun konsulaj funkcioj (en la insuloj ekde la jaro 227 a.K) kaj poste per la prokonsulo (aŭ propretor) por Hispania Citerior kaj Ulterior (197 a.K).
Finiĝinte la regperiodo de konsulo kutime la Romia senato taskigis lin regi dum kelkta tempo provincon. Ĉi kaze la konsulo ricevis la postenon je prokonsulo, sub kiu li havis la imperiumon kaj regadon sur tiu provinco asignita.
