Pontypool estas urbo de Monmouthshire en sudorienta Kimrio. Ĝi enhavas ĉirkaŭ 36 mil loĝantojn.

Antaŭe la urbo gravis pro ferindustrio (kiu estiĝis ĉirkaŭ 1425) kaj karbominado. Nun multe da la loĝantoj laboras en Cwmbran kaj Newport.
