Onyx estas usona grupo de "hardcore" hiphopo el South Jamaica, Queens, Novjorko, formita en 1988 de Fredro Starr, Suavé (konata ankaŭ kiel Sonny Seeza) kaj la lasta Big DS. Sticky Fingaz aliĝis al la grupo en 1991.

Ili estas konata ĉefe pro sia platensukcesa unuopaĵo "Slam" de 1993, kiun la gazeto "The Source" priskribis kiel kanto kiu enkondukis la arton de "slam-dancing", "moshing" aŭ "slamming" interpuŝiĝo en hiphopon.
