Fosilia specimeno de Messelornis.

Messelornithidae estas formortinta klado de gruoformaj birdoj, tre proksime rilataj al la modernaj raledoj.[1][2][3] La fosiliaj trovaĵoj estas el Paleoceno ĝis frua Oligoceno de Eŭropo kaj Nordameriko.[4]
