Matthias Ringmann (konata ankaŭ kiel Philesius Vogesigena) (1482–1511) estis germana mapisto kaj humanisma poeto. Oni supozas, ke li estas aŭtoro de la nomo Ameriko en la mapo de Cosmographiae Introductio, nome la verko de lia amiko Martin Waldseemüller. En lia verko Cosmographiae Introductio aperinta la 25an de aprilo de 1507 la unuan fojon oni aperigis la vorton 'AMERICA' presite kaj fakte reference al Sudameriko. Waldseemüller korektis en posta eldono kaj nomigis Sudamerikon al "Terra Nova", sed la nomo America estis jam establita. Matthias Ringmann verkis Grammatica Figurata pri lingvaj aferoj.
