Ili debutalbumo aperis en 1974 (Si Se Puede), en 1978 la albumo Just Another Band From East L.A. sub nomo Los Lobos.

li unua sukceso okazis per la albumo How Will the Wolf Survive? (1985), la veran trarompon alportis la soloalbumo La Bamba en 1987. La kanto estis filmkanto de la fimo La Bamba, kiu surscenigis vivon de Ritchie Valens.

La kanto La Bamba iĝis tre populara kaj jam tradicia en Esperantaj renkontiĝoj.
