Kokcidio

Kokcidioj, Coccidia aŭ Coccidiasina, estas subklaso de mikroskopaj, spor-formantaj, unusol-ĉelaj protistoj parazitoj de la klaso Conoidasida kaj la filumo Apicomplexa.[1][2] Temas pri parazitoj nepre intraĉelaj, kio signifas, ke ili devas vivi kaj reproduktiĝi ene de la ĉeloj. La maturaj gametoj disvolviĝas intraĉele kaj la zigoto estas ĝenerale fiksa (nemovebla). Male, en la alia subklaso, nome Gregarinasina, la maturiĝo de la gametoj okazas eksterĉele. Ili estas ĝenerale parazitoj de la epiteliaj intestaj ĉeloj, sed ili troviĝas ankaŭ en la sango, hepato kaj aliaj organoj. Ili parazitas kaj vertebrulojn kaj superajn senvertebrulojn.
