La kaba leono (Panthera leo melanochaitus) estas formortinta varieto aŭ subspecio de la afrika leono.
La kabaj leonoj vivis ĉe la suda pinto de la afrika kontinento, en Okcidenta Kablando en regiono ĉirkaŭ Kaburbo. La lasta kaba leono estis mortigita en la proinvco en 1858.
La kaba leono havis – same al la berbera leono – karakterize abundaj kolhararaoj, kiu etendiĝis super la ŝultro kaj al la ventro. Okulfrapa estis ties nigraj orelpintoj.
La DNA-analizoj el 2006 ne apogis ties staton kiel subspecio. Ŝajnas, ke la kaba leono estis nur la plej suda populacio de la Transval-leono (Panthera leo krugeri).
