Juke joint
Juke joint (aŭ jook joint, tradukebla al fidrinkejo) estas la loka termino por neformala establejo kiu havigas muzikon, dancadon, ludadon kaj drinkadon, ĉefe funkciigita de afrik-usonanoj en Sudorienta Usono. La termino "juke" ŝajne derivas el la gulaa vorto joog aŭ jug, signife amase aŭ malorde.[1] Tia juke joint povas esti nomata ankaŭ "barrelhouse" (bareldomo).
Klasikaj juke joints troviĝis, por ekzemplo, ĉe ruraj vojkruciĝoj, serve al la rura laboristaro kiu ekaperis post la liberigo de sklavoj.[2] Plantejaj laboristoj kaj rikoltistoj bezonis ejojn por distriĝi kaj sociiĝi post malfacila laborsemajno, ĉefe ĉar ili estis malrajtigitaj eniri en plej el la establejoj por blankuloj pere de la leĝoj Jim Crow. Instalitaj ĉe la eksteraĵoj de urboj, ofte en aĉaj konstruaĵoj aŭ privataj domoj, juke joints havigis manĝaĵojn, trinkaĵojn, dancadon kaj ludadon por lacaj laboristoj.[3] Posedantoj enspezis kroman monon vendante manĝaĵojn aŭ trinkaĵojn al patronoj, aŭ havigante malmultekostajn ĉambrojn kaj necesaĵojn.
