Joseph SMIT (naskiĝis en 1836, mortis en 1929) estis zoologia ilustristo el Nederlando.
Smit naskiĝis en Lisse. Li ricevis la unuan komision de Hermann Schlegel, en la muzeo de Leiden, por fari litografiojn por libro pri bestoj de la nederlandaj antiloj (aktuale Indonezio). En 1866 li estis al Britio invitata por ilustri libron de Philip Sclater, Exotic Ornithology (ekzota ornitologio). Li ankaŭ faris ilustraĵojn por Zoological Sketches (zoologiaj desegnaĵoj) de Joseph Wolf kaj monografio de Daniel Giraud Elliot por la Phasianidae kaj Paradisaeidae.
