Ex cathedra
La latina lokucio ex cathedra, (esperante: elkatedre) laŭlitere tradukita signifas el la katedro (seĝo). La difino multe oftas en la eklezia lingvaĵo kie indikas ke la papo, kiam parolas "ex cathedra", plenumas la oficon de universala Paŝtisto kaj Doktoro de la Katolika Eklezio per difino-proklamo de doktrino rilate la kredon kaj moralon. La esprimo estas ankaŭ ironie uzata por indiki ulon kiu publike asertas absolutan certecon rilate neprovitaj aferoj kvazaŭ li havus papan aŭ dian asistadon. Tiu esprimo estas ligita al la neeraripovo de la papo, al li rekonata en la Unua Vatikana koncilio- Pri tiu prerogativo li ĝuis ĉiam, de pri ĝi la eklezio konsciiĝis iom post iom.
