Esacus estas genro de birdoj de la triela familio Burhinidae. La genro estas distribuata el Pakistano kaj Barato ĝis Aŭstralio. Ĝi enhavas du speciojn, nome la Granda trielo kaj la Grandbeka trielo.
Taksonomio
La genro Esacus estis enkondukita (kiel subgenro) en 1831 fare de la franca natursciencisto René Lesson por hejmigi la Grandan trielon.[1] La nomo devenas el la Antikva greka aisakos neidentigita birdo foje asocia kun Ruĝgorĝulo, vadbirdo aŭ kormorano. En Greka mitologio Esako estis filo de la reĝo Priamo de Trojo. Esako funebris pro la morto de sia edzino kaj estis transformita en birdo.[2]
