Dániel Kmeth [kmet], laŭ hungarlingve kutima nomordo Kmeth Dániel estis hungara pastro, monaĥo, matematikisto, astronomo, profesoro.

Dániel Kmeth [1] naskiĝis la 15-an de januaro 1783 en Hungara reĝlando en Breznóbánya (nuntempa Brezno en Slovakio). Li mortis la 20-an de junio 1825 en Kassa (nuntempa Košice en Slovakio).

Biografio

Dániel Kmeth dum lernado li aliĝis al la piaristoj en 1799. Ekde 1802 li instruis en diversaj lokoj, ekde 1806 li plulernis en Vác, poste li akiris diplomon en Reĝa Universitato de Pest, fine li lernis teologion en Nyitra. En 1810 li instruis en Vác, sed en la sama jaro li estis sendita al Buda por studi astronomion. Li laboris en la observatorio. Post jaroj li false akuzis la observatoriestron, tial li devis instrui ekde 1823 en akademio de Kassa.
