Diatomito
Diatomito laŭ la Nova Plena Ilustrita Vortaro de Esperanto el 2005 estas "sedimenta, silica petro, konsistanta tute aŭ precipe el valvoj de diatomeoj". Sinonimoj esperantlingvaj estas kiselguro kaj diatomea tero - la lasta el tiuj esprimoj jam menciiĝis en la Plena Ilustrita Vortaro de Esperanto el 1970, kun aldona klarigo ke la "maso el akvoplena silico" karakteriziĝas per aparte "granda sorbopovo". Ĝis la Unua Mondmilito, diatomito estis minata nur en Germanio. Signifaj provizoj interalie ekzistas ankaŭ en Ĉeĥio, la insulo Skye de Skotlando kaj en pluraj partoj de Usono, kaj nelaste, diatomito estas signifa ekonomia eksportaĵo de Islando.
