Asko estas fungoĉelo de sakfungoj ofte pli-malpli sakforma, en kiu evoluas askosporoj, kies nombro ĉe la plej konataj specioj estas 8.

Klasifiko

Askoj havas du membranojn nomatajn tunikoj. Depende de sia aspekto, ĉi tiuj membranoj klaseblas jene:

  • dutunika (=fendtunika): la du tunikoj estas bone diferencataj. Tie estas dehisko de la tipo "diablet-el-skatolo" (Jack in the box).
  • unutunika (operkula aŭ senoperkula): la du tunikoj ne estas diferencataj.
  • prototunika: la du tunikoj estas molaj.
