The guidelines at:

  • How to write about settlements (in the UK) are a good starting point for improving and standardising town and village articles - you can link to these by writing either WP:UKTOWNS, WP:VILLAGES or WP:CITIES in standard double square brackets to link to the same guidelines.
    • WP:UKRIVERS are useful for watercourses.
    • WP:MILLS are useful for windmills and watermills
    • WP:HSITES are useful for all types of historic site, including old parks and gardens, whether public or private
    • Category:WikiProject_Sports often leads to specific guidance from golf to hiking trails, with all team sports covered
      • Wiki Loves Monuments runs a photographs competition in September of the best of these from every part of the world
  • WP:BLP are useful for biographies of living people
  • WP:BIOG are useful for biographies of historic people or fictional characters
  • WP:ORG are useful for biographies on companies, organisations, businesses and charities
  • WP:ECOLOGY are useful for habitats and species localised to the whole county or part of it
  • WP:PLANTS are useful for plant articles (as opposed to sections) localised to the whole county or part of it
  • WP:GEOLOGY are useful for stone and soil articles (as opposed to sections) related to the whole county or part of it; particularly heath and Bargate stone being highly localised to the county.
  • WP:FILM are useful for film, television
