Welcome to WikiProject River Thames

Hello, are you interested in the River Thames? Then we would like to invite you to join us on this project.

WikiProject River Thames is an open group of Wikipedia editors dedicated to improving and expanding Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to the River Thames. Our scope includes the Thames' locks, crossings, islands, tributaries, riverside settlements, ports, marinas, all river-based businesses, services, sport, events and leisure activities as well as the Thames in history, art and literature.

The aims of WikiProject Thames are to promote comprehensive coverage of all Thames topics within Wikipedia and to collaborate to promote Thames-related articles to good or featured status.

WikiProject Thames was founded on 23 August 2008 and is still in development – please do pitch in with your ideas and help shape its future.

How you can help depends on your time, resources and interest:

Create new articles about Thames topics
- check out the list of missing Thames articles if you need inspiration
Expand Thames stub articles into full articles.
Improve the quality of existing articles, see how to structure the content.
Communicate with others interested in these topics, see our WikiProject Task list.

Expand articles

Check and add references and cite sources for Thames articles.
Expand Thames stub articles into full articles.
Upload images to the WikiMedia:Commons and add images to Thames pages – check out the list of Thames articles needing photographs for articles currently without any image at all.

Improve articles

Improve Stub-class, Start-class, C-class, B-class, GA-class or A-class Thames articles by adding content, copyediting or finding references.

Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Thames articles by quality statistics

Check for spelling and factual errors and correct wikilinks.
Help organise and check categorisation of existing articles.
Watchlist for and revert vandalism on articles.

Communicate

Discuss articles with members who have displayed interest in these subjects on the talk pages of the user or the article
Submit quality articles for Wikipedia:Peer review or Wikipedia:Featured article candidates
Create a request for a new article about Thames topics
List any questions or requests on the WikiProject talk page

Severndroog (talk · contribs)Missing islands of the Thames: Is there a reason why Thanet, Harty, Foulness, Bermondsey, etc are missing from the list of islands of the Thames (agreed not all are now islands, but other ex islands are listed)
Because the Thames ends at the line between Chalkwell and Yantlet Creek meaning Thanet, Harty and Foulness are all in the North Sea not the Thames, and there's no evidence that Bermondsey was ever an island? ‑ Iridescent 15:16, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
