A tag has been placed on Chatham Star Tribune, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Danville, Virginia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing, because this account has been used only for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to Wikipedia's content policy. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is against Wikipedia's policy: an account is for an individual, not a group. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a free advertising service.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:23, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for email. Several issues

  • Your user name violates our policies since it represents a product, company or organisation which is not permitted
  • You have incorrectly filed an unblock request via the ticketing system, which you should have done here as described above, since you can still edit this page
  • You can ask for an unblock
  • If you think your user name does not represent a product or company
  • Temporarily, to allow you to choose a permitted user name. You will be asked to give an undertaking not to edit articles for which you have a conflict of interest
  • You have a conflict of interest when editing this article, and you must declare it. You are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Womackpublishing. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Womackpublishing|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}.
  • The issue is not whether your newspaper has an entry, but your spamming of it. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of fact-free unsourced claims include: Our mission is to be a written and visual record of what makes our community special.... Anytime you want to know what's going on our community, pick up the Star-Tribune. Hometown news is our business! (followed by spamlink)— If you think this is objective neutral reporting, I dread to think what your newspaper is like!
  • If you have further queries, you can leave a message on this page, and I will know you have done so if you start it with my user name, User:Jimfbleak and sign it with four tildes ~~~~ when you post it. Please remember to be WP:Civil or your talk page and email access may be rescinded, thanks

I note that you suggested in your email (in shouty caps) that I might be a competitor. FWIW worth, I am a Brit and I'd never heard of Danville, let alone your paper. You can't verify that, but links to my contributions, block and deletion logs are at the top of User:Jimfbleak. I have to say that your accusations of bad faith and stupidity do little to advance your credibility as someone who is wishing to contribute in a positive way Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:34, 29 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
