Moves to genus categories
Hi, it's sensible to have moved, for example, the Oxyopes species articles to Category:Oxyopes rather than the family category. However, they all then need a category key, e.g. Oxyopes cornutus should have [[Category:Oxyopes|cornutus]] (which I've given it), so that the species get arranged properly in the category display. Regarding User:The Knowledge Pirate/Darlington High School
I think what you should have done is marked the draft as "being reviewed", and then marked the "Darlington High School" redirect as db-move, noting that you are planning to move the draft to that location. Anyway, this seems to be pretty much the same result. I think you also want this user subpage now deleted. Please remove the db-move template and add a db-u1 template. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 06:30, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Foxborough High School when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

Administrators' newsletter – May 2026
News and updates for administrators from the past month (April 2026).

Interface administrator changes
- Changes to user permissions made from Meta are now included in the local user permissions log (T6055).
- The autoconfirmed user group will soon be modified such that the four-day account age requirement begins when an account makes its first edit (T418484).
- The arbitration case SchroCat has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 15 April.
- Per a recent motion, appeals of blocks from the conflict-of-interest VRT queue are, by default, appealed on-wiki through the normal unblock process. However, they may be heard by the Committee if COIVRTers disagree on the interpretation of the evidence or believe ArbCom would be better suited to hear the appeal. Administrators are also advised that loosening or lifting such blocks without the consent of someone with access to the queue or ArbCom can be grounds for desysopping.
- Per a recent motion, restrictions issued directly by the Committee may now be enforced with blocks which work exactly like contentious topic blocks.
- The arbitration case Maghreb has been closed.
- The May 2026 administrator elections are scheduled to run from April 29 to May 19. The call for candidates ends May 5.
- The 2026 Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) election is scheduled to run from April 25 to June 1. Candidacy submissions close on May 10.
- A new noticeboard for non-urgent, batch page protection requests has been created, primarily for the enforcement of contentious topic restrictions.

Is this subject notable per Wikipedia standards? FloridaArmy (talk) 23:03, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- I see you have been trying to get this one published for a while. I'll look for sources right now. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 23:06, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- FloridaArmy It appears that my Newspaper.com subscribtion through the Wikipedia Library just expired. I have to wait for it to get approved again. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 23:12, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for having a look. I think it's notable. I got into the weeds on it a bit with all the incarnations. There are articles on the high school from early 20th century inclusing a story about a debate on migration to the north and a graduation at Tampa Casino. How's everything going? Take care. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:01, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
- My access to Newspapers.com got approved, but I don't know when I'll receive access to it. The Wikipedia Library says it will take a week. All I can see now are zoomed in screenshots. I can't guarantee publication, but I am optimistic. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 05:40, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- My access has been restored. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 04:37, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- FloridaArmy, I am sorry it took me so long to respond even though I checked for sources. I could't find anything at all. Are there any Rosenwald schools that you have been trying to get published for years. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 19:07, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

Franklin Schaffner
What was your reason for removing Dark December (Playhouse 90) (1959) from Template:Franklin Schaffner? Cbl62 (talk) 18:39, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- It was added by a sock of a banned editor with an open CCI. You can add it back if you'd like. I'm doing this to remove as many copyright investigations as possible. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 18:40, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying. I do understand your rationale. However, even a banned editor occasionally gets things right. Dark December, set at the low point of the Battle of the Bulge, was part of Playhouse 90, the most acclaimed series in the early decades of American television, and with a spectacular array of talent behind the work, including Schaffner at the helm as director, Merle Miller (who got his start writing for Yank, the Army Weekly during WWII) as the writer, performances by notables including Barry Sullivan and James Whitmore, early significant roles by Warren Beatty, Michael Landon, and Richard Beymer, and even an appearance by three-year-old Ron Howard. Cbl62 (talk) 19:07, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- I get that, but if I don't revert the sock's edits, I might potentially be leaving a lot of WP:COPYVIOs in articles. The CCI we already have open on this editor is tremendous. If you think an edit was good, you can revert any edit you like. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 03:23, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
- I will revert my reverts of all his talk page and template edits though. The Knowledge Pirate (talk) 03:42, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
