Welcome!

Hello, Jake.B7802, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Steam Dreams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Nope, not me. Jake.B7802 (talk) 02:13, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Penny to a pound it's joshbyford. With his personal attacks, sockpuppetry and general bad behaviour he's heading for a block soon. 10mmsocket (talk) 08:18, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you have added Creative Commons licensed text to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as List of rolling stock preserved on the Severn Valley Railway. You are welcome to import appropriate Creative Commons licensed content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Compatibly licensed sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any Creative Commons content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 02:11, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I don't know why I've been blocked, it wasn't me deleting the information on the Severn Valley Railway's Wikipedia page, I was trying to restore it until someone blocked me. Jake.B7802 (talk) 11:05, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Information icon Hello, I'm Danners430. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Vintage Trains, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Danners430 (talk) 02:54, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I didn't give a reliable source but I know for a fact 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' has been withdrawn from traffic for an overhaul. I've been to the locomotive's home base at The West Shed twice this year and can very much confirm its currently being overhauled, the boiler is due to be lifted and taken to HSS in Cheshire at some point in the next few months. Jake.B7802 (talk) 17:21, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That’s original research. If it’s not sourced reliably, then it doesn’t belong to all intents and purposes. Danners430 (talk) 06:26, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No offence but are you even a railway enthusiast? If so you would know that the engine has been pulled from traffic and is in the process of having a full overhaul. The locomotive was pulled from traffic in December 2022 for winter maintenance and has since ended up as a full overhaul due to cracks being found in the locomotive's frames.
I know the engine is currently out of traffic cos I've visited its home at the West Shed twice this year and at present is currently off its wheelsets. I've spoken to the volunteers at West Shed who have said the boiler is due to be lifted at some point and will be taken to HSS in Cheshire for work to be done on it. Jake.B7802 (talk) 07:55, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So once again, that is original research. Have a read of Wikipedia:Truth, not verifiability. We don't actually care about the truth. What you know and have maybe seen with your own yes to be true doesn't matter if it is not supported by reliable and verifiable sources - WP:RS and WP:V. Oh and they can't be forums or fansites WP:UGC, nor blogs WP:SPS. And to pick up your first point, it doesn't matter at all whether @Danners430 (or me) is an enthusiast. What matters is that we play by the rules and the spirit of being a good Wikipedian. That produces an enyclopaedia that we can all be proud of. 10mmsocket (talk) 08:06, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
