Hello! I see you've moved "Blue Wonder" to Blue Miracle. I see what you are getting at, but the word "Wunder" is commonly translated as "wonder", e.g. "Die Sieben Weltwunder" -> "The seven wonders of the world". The bridge has been known as the Blue Wonder in English since it was built as far as I know. It's certainly given that name in all the English travel guides I've seen. Frederick Taylor's new book "Dresden" calls it the Blue Wonder, for example. Saintswithin 18:47, 15 Jan 2005 (UTC) (whoops, sorry, put this in the wrong place, I'm moving it here! Yes, I believe now that you have the correct translation. I had grabed a couple resources that confirmed a translation error earlier. One being a professor that tought English in Dresden here, and another from an outdated translation book. I found the ambiguous translation in LEO now. So sorry for the edit! It was explained to me as a false friend word to me, but this is where assuming things gets you. Have to check everything three times now... Holofect 18:18, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, the translation "miracle" is more common generally, although I can't think of any examples off the top of my head where you really could not use "wonder". So now you're one up on your professor ;-) I put an explanation on the talk page for Blue Wonder in case anyone else thought of changing it. Saintswithin 19:18, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC)
