You wrote that "Grove Dictionary Online...should be accessible for long-time wikipedia-users". It isn't, because it is a pay site. The free part is only a few sentences, so unless one has the print version, it isn't accessible to Wikipedia readers. Also, simply because a subject appears in New Grove doesn't mean that a subject is notable. New Grove is a tertiary source. Multiple secondary sources are needed. Musicians who are popular in Germany are not necessarily popular in America. The English Wikipedia relies on English sources. The documentation recommends English sources for the English Wikipedia. Last, machine translations are terrible. They are not a solution.
