Riccardo Ponzio is an Italian racing driver from Peacara[1].
Career
F2 Italian Trophy
In 2017, Ponzio participated in the F2 Italian Trophy and achieved 1st position in the iconic of Imola Circuit[2] and was crowned champion of the tricolor series during the last round of the season at the racetrack of Moza Circuit[3].
Prototypes
On March 16th, 2018, Ponzio announced that he will participate in European Le Mans Series Championship with Oregon Team driving a Norma M30[4].
Formula 1-BOOS GP
During the period 2020-2021, he took part in the BOOS GP European Championship, in the Open Class[5][6][7], aboard a Formula 1 Jaguar R3, he participates in 3 races[8] and achieved two second place[9].
Championship GT
In 2020, Ponzio signed an agreement with Imperial Racing to race in the 2020 Italian GT Gran Turismo Championship with Lamborghini Huracan GT3[10][11]. The first year in the category ended positively with a victory at the debut in the Vallelunga Circuit, and once again hitting the podium in the last race in Monza Circuit[12][13][14].
