Mike Vance

Vance was born in 1983 in Winchester, Va. He grew up in the town and worked at many of the mainstays of the town, such as JC Penney and Winchester Aquarium and Pet Center. Vance graduated from Radford University in 2006. He is engaged to Rebecca Knox.

Drunken People's Poet

Vance found success with his poem, "In Lieu of Flowers," which one reader called, "The wake up call to this generation of writers." Vance has found success traveling the country and reading his work in coffee shops. A rumor persists that The New Yorker offered Vance a lifetime position on the writing staff, but this cannot be confirmed because Vance is cryptic, at best, when discussing his history.

Vance is currently working on a memoir that ties together important events of his life with the world of video games. As of March 2009, no publication date has been set.
