Mike's Mic

Michael Messineo is an Australian social media personality who runs the YouTube channel Mike's Mic.

Personal life

Messineo grew up in Mandurah, Western Australia.[1] He has a master's degree in mechanical engineering.[1][2] After graduating, he worked as a programmer in Melbourne.[1]

Career

Messineo started his YouTube channel in 2015.[2]

In 2017, after moving to Melbourne for work, he started making content about reality television.[2]

In late 2020, he quit his job to become a full-time YouTuber.[1][2]

Television recaps

In 2019, Messineo posted a nineteen-minute recap of Riverdale's third season.[3] Messineo's recap videos are considered part of a broader trend of long-form content on YouTube.[4] His recap of Pretty Little Liars, broken into three parts, is six hours long.[5]

Discussing long-form recap content, Vulture writer Rebecca Alter wrote that "Mike’s Mic has elevated the form to a new level".[3]
