The ACS Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences is an annual award that recognizes significant accomplishments by persons who have fostered the interest of women in chemistry, promoting their professional developments as women chemists or chemical engineers. The Award is offered by the American Chemical Society (ACS), and consists of a cash prize (US$5,000) and a certificate. The award was established by the The Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation in 1993.
Nominees can be selected from any professional setting. The award recognizes the efforts of individuals to encourage women to engage in careers in chemistry and chemical engineering and to generate a broader appreciation of chemistry.[1]
