Karl Ragnar Rimfeldt (1953 / Kongsvinger, Norway) is a Norwegian founder, investor and businessman. Studied at Crummer Graduate School of Business, FL, USA, The Norwegian University of Life Science (NMBU) and The Norwegian School of Horticulture, Jensvoll, Drammen (SGJ)

Karl Ragnar Rimfeldt grew up in Austmarka, Norway and moved to Kongsvinger in 1967. He has been living in the Norwegian communities of Ås, of Oppegård and in the United States.

He is a Master of Science from NMBU and a Master of Business & Administration from the US. He graduated as no. 1 from both NMBU and SGJ. After his first Master, he was engaged as a scientist and lecturer at NMBU, publishing several scientific papers. From here he started his business career.

Karl Ragnar Rimfeldt early founded his own companies, among others, the wholesale fertilizer & chemical company Grandiflora AS and the nursery Kongsvinger Planteskole AS. As of 1985, Kongsvinger Planteskole was the major actor in this sector in Norway, with production and sale in both Sweden and Norway. At the same year, the retail chain Plantasjen was founded. [Plantasjen, Plantagen, Plantation ]. Plantasjen opened their first garden and improvment megastore at Lillestrøm, Norway, the 17th of April 1986. The location is next to the main junction of E6 by Hvam, between downtown Oslo and the International Airport. Already at year one, Plantasjen became the largest turnover store of its kind in the Nordic countries, and in a couple of years one of the major taxpayers in the community. In just a few years, Plantasjen opened up new stores around Norway, Sweden and Finland. The Plantasjen Group was successfully sold to EQT/Wallenberg in 2001.

Right after, Rimfeldt Eiendom [Rimfeldt Properties, Rimfeldt Real Estate]] was founded together with his son, Karl Erik Rimfeldt. In 2019, this group includes around 40 real estate companies. Karl Ragnar Rimfeldt is the chairman of the board of the holding company since it was founded. Rimfeldt Eiendom has been a driving force for the development of the communities of Kongsvinger, Elverum og Lillestrøm. The company is developing, building, leasing out and selling shopping malls, official buildings, offices and residential buildings. The company is probably the most comprehensive owner and developer along highway E6 in Lillestrøm, Oslo.

Since 2002, Karl Ragnar Rimfeldt has been ranked by the magazine Kapital to be among most wealthy people in Norway.

Karl Ragnar Rimfeldt is and has been engaged in a wide variety of establishments. In addition to have been the chairman of the board of Plantasjen during the company’s first 16 years, he has also been the chairman of the Norwegian Import Council. He was the chairman of the Norwegian brand of the Swedish Nibe, Norske Backer, the professional soccer club, the bank, police station and court house of Kongsvinger. He has been board member of the Norwegian Nurserymen Association and the newspaper Glåmdalen. He was the initiator and force to establish the Norwegian Top athlete High School, University Campus and plans for a new hospital in Kongsvinger, and the National Emergency Response Center at Taraldrud, Oslo
