I am Steve Wilkinson aka WheelchairSteve, a nickname I was given by friends many years ago. You may have guessed from the name that I use a wheelchair. I was born with Spina Bifida in 1953 and have been dealing with circumstances that disable me all of my life. You could say I am disabled, but my philosophy is that everyone is "disabled" in some way. It's basically down to how you deal with social and physical barriers placed before you. If you are "able" to cope with the barriers, then you aren't "disabled" as far as that situation is concerned.
