Rhodes Business School (Australia)
Organisational objective: ‘To be recognised as the benchmark for training programs for the industries we service…that when a resume lists a Rhodes Business School program, it guarantees that the person has attended training that ensures improvement in confidence, competence, and performance’. History: Rhodes Business School was established in ???? to meet the need for staff in the Australian Mining, Oil & Gas, Engineering, Construction, and Power & Water industries who possessed outstanding technical/operational skills and experience but often lacked the business and, more importantly, the leadership skills required to ensure they, their team, and their organisation operate at the highest possible standards of efficiency, safety, capability, and productivity. This demand was further increased in the Australian ‘Resources Boom’, that saw many organisation lose staff due to the increased salaries being offered as a result of the shortage of appropriately skilled and experienced workers available, meaning new and remaining staff required appropriate and effective training to fill these vacant roles as competently (and quickly) as possible. Locations: Rhodes Business School has premises in Brisbane (Head Office), Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Adelaide. However, it regularly delivers to groups in rural and/or remote locations across Australia and internationally. Service offering: Rhodes Business School offers a wide variety of training programs in the form of Short Courses, Graduate Development Programs, Executive Programs, Specialised Programs, and VET Programs (Certificate IV and Diploma programs) that include (but are by no means limited to): VET: • Certificate IV in Frontline Management (4 core + 6 elective units) • Certificate IV in Coaching (TBC) • Certificate IV in Business (1 core + 9 elective units) • Certificate IV in Project Management (3 core + 6 elective units) • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (5 core + 5 elective units) • Diploma of Management (8 elective units) • Diploma of Management - Safety Leadership (8 core units) • Diploma of Project Management (8 core + 4 elective units) • Diploma of Business (8 elective units) Short Courses: • Asset Management • Business Development Fundamentals • Change Management • Continuous Improvement • Contract Management • Document Writing Skills • Effective Communication & People Skills • Emotional & Social Intelligence • Finance for Non-Financial People • Influence, Negotiation, & Conflict Resolution • Innovation & Creative Problem Solving • Key Client Account Management • Manage Diverse Teams • Managing Different Generations • Managing Remote Teams • Manage Self – Time & Process Management Skills • Mentoring/Coaching Skills • Performance Management • Presentation Skills • Project Management Fundamentals • Project Management (Advanced) • Recruitment Skills • Risk Management • Strategic Thinking, Planning, & Implementation • Stress & Anxiety Management • Supply Chain Management • Sustainability in the Workplace • Sustainable Workplace Management • Team Building/Effectiveness • Team Leadership, Management, and Motivation • Winning Tender & Proposal Writing • Workplace Discrimination, Bullying, & Harassment Specialist Programs: • Bespoke Programs • Creating a Culture of Success • Creating & Maintaining a Sustainable Workplace • Doing Business With China (Culture) • Doing Business with China (Language) • Effective Worksite Management • Graduate Development Programs • Safety Leadership • The Six-Day MBA • Women in a Male-Dominant Workplace Executive Programs: • Business Acumen for Executives • Competitive Advantage in a Tough Market • Industry Trends • Leading Change for Mining Executives • Organisational Leadership • Preparing the Organisation for ‘Generational Change’ • Strategy for Executives • Sustainability for Executives
