Historical Figure: Albert Einstein

Did you know that Albert Einstein was Jewish but went to a catholic school from the age of 5 to 8 years old because his family were non-observant Jews? He did also complete both primary and secondary school as well, until he left Germany 7 years later. Amazingly, Albert Einstein won the 1921 noble prize in physics. Before that he published the Anus Mirabilis papers with the E=mc2 in 1905. Sadly, he died an amazingly old age of 76. Today mathematicians, scientist and students all over the world still are using his research and equations to gain knowledge. During 1911, he had calculated E=mc2, based on his new theory of general relativity, light from another star would be bent by the Sun's gravity. That prediction was claimed and confirmed by observations made by a British expedition led by Sir Arthur Eddington during the solar eclipse of 29 May 1919. International media reports of this made Einstein world famous. If I could take Albert anywhere, I would transport him in a time machine to present day to an internet cafe and wine bar. I would treat him to the best wine on the menu as this was his drink of choice. It would be fun to introduce him to what a computer is and what it can do, as well as to show him how his theories are still used today.

Alive author: Lenard Cohen

Did you know that Lenard Cohen is a Jewish singer-song writer and born in Montreal? Also, he went to McGill University where he was the president of their poetry club and won the Chester MacNaghten Literary Competition for their poems, Sparrows and Thoughts Of Landsman. Amazingly, his song Halleluiah is still one of his most famous songs, rewritten by other Artists and listened to by a lot of people around the world. Surprisingly, he still tours, playing his music around the world at the surprisingly old age of 78. His hypnotic and legendary lyrics inspire people to become a musician or just to enjoy music. Although he is in his later years, he is doing what he loves to do most which is to compose and play his music. He is one of the most talented musicians of his time and one that will continue to be popular in the future.

If I could take Lenard anywhere, I would take him to Wilensky’s, a famous hot spot in Montreal for a sandwich called “the special” which is made of all beef salami and all beef bologna, grilled on a tasty roll with a hint of mustard and an homemade cherry cola. This is one of the famous landmark within the old Jewish community. Unchanged, it is a business that was created in 1932 by Moe Wilensky’s where light lunches are served. Walking into this restaurant is like taking a walk back in time. From the décor to the menu, not much is different. Walking in, you see a tin ceiling, an old fashioned soda fountain, a ring up cash register, seventy year old grills, and stools at the counter. The recipes have been past down from generation to generation so they can keep serving their delicious and untouchable food. Wilensky’s had made its mark and is iconic within the Montreal food industry as has Lenard Cohen in the Montreal music industry. I hope he will appreciate Wilensky’s greatness and legendary sandwich and soda.

Dead Author: Johnny Cash Surprisingly Johnny Cash wrote over 1500 songs and had 500 albums. He is favored by many people of all ages and in particular adults who grew up hearing his music and kids whose parents played his music often. Crazily, he was the youngest person ever to have his name be put in the Country Hall of Fame. Unbelievably, he won 11 Grammies in his amazing career for songs like I Walk the Line, Hurt, The Ring of Fire and many more. He even produced a kids album that was extremely popular by kids and their parents. Happily, he won the award for the #1 country artist of all time. Tragically, he passed away in Nashville, Tennessee in 2003 because he was extremely addicted to drugs and overdosed. Johnny cash started a TV show called the Johnny Cash Show, which was aired on the ABC network. On the show Jonny cash invited guests to be interviewed by him. Amazingly, some of the people that he interviewed were famous icons like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Lance Armstrong and many more popular people. Johnny Cash even advocated for prison reform at his July 1972 meeting with United States President Richard Nixon. He was an unbelievably talented man in many different areas of his life and made his mark on many individuals of all ages. If I could take Johnny Cash anywhere, I think he would like to go to the Utopia Restaurant Lounge and Café in Arkansas where he was born and grew up. I think he would choose this café because they serve the best Mac and cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches in his Home Town and these are his two favorite foods. They also sell amazing seafood, and sandwiches.
