The 2022 Walt Disney World Showcase was an international football tournament contested by men's national teams and took place between 22 March and 13 April 2022 in the United States. It was the 4th Walt Disney World Showcase, a worldwide football tournament held once every year.
The 2022 tournament was the first to be held since the 2020 edition. The 2021 edition was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.
For the first time, the tournament involved 48 teams. 64 matches were played in 4 venues across 3 cities. France, the defending champions, were eliminated in the ____________ by ____________. Ukraine withdrew from the tournament on 17 March 2022 and were replaced by Saudi Arabia.
Officiating
On 1 March 2022, the CSA released the list of 27 referees and 54 assistant referees selected to oversee matches.
Referee Mariam Peñarrieta of Bolivia became the first female referee to take charge of a Walt Disney World Showcase match when she refereed the United Arab Emirates vs Wales on 27 March 2022.
Resort hotels were used throughout Walt Disney World by the 32 national squads to stay and train before and during the tournament. On 6 March 2022, the CSA announced the base camps for each participating team.
The full schedule was announced by the CSA on 21 March 2022.
The United States was placed in position A1 in the group stage and played in the opening match at the Stadium of Magic in Bay Lake on 22 March against Hungary. The Stadium of Magic also hosted the final on 10 April.
Group stage
Competing countries were divided into eight groups of four teams (groups A to H). Teams in each group played one another in a round-robin, with the top two teams advancing to the knockout stage. If matches were level after 90 minutes, a golden goal extra time was played (two periods of 15 minutes each). If the match was (Ten European teams and four South American teams progressed to the knockout stage, together with Japan and Mexico.

The ranking of teams in the group stage was determined as follows:
Points obtained in all group matches;
Goal difference in all group matches;
Number of goals scored in all group matches;
Points obtained in the matches played between the teams in question;
Goal difference in the matches played between the teams in question;
Number of goals scored in the matches played between the teams in question;
Fair play points in all group matches (only one deduction could be applied to a player in a single match):
Yellow card: –1 points;
Indirect red card (second yellow card): –3 points;
In the knockout stages, if a match was level at the end of normal playing time, a golden goal extra time was played (two periods of 15 minutes each) and followed, if necessary, by a penalty shoot-out to determine the winners.
