Article Evaluation - Fusae Ichikawa
- Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you?
- Everything in the article is relevant to the topic at hand, and nothing in it distracts from the focus on the topic.
- Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?
- The article is surprisingly neutral, and the only claim that seems to be unrepresented is her role in the National Spiritual Mobilization, which provided support to the WWII Japanese government.
- Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?
- No, the article is very even-handed.
- Check a few citations. Do the links work? Does the source support the claims in the article?
- The links operate correctly and reference existing materials. The sources support the claims in the article and do not deviate much from the source in terms of opinion or fact.
- Is each fact referenced with an appropriate, reliable reference? Where does the information come from? Are these neutral sources? If biased, is that bias noted?
- Not every fact is cited, and there is less than one citation per paragraph, with one section containing no citations at all.
- Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?
- There is no out of date information, and the only thing missing is detail about the groups she was involved in and her specific roles in each organization.
- Check out the Talk page of there article. What kinds of conversations, if any, are going on behind the scenes about how to represent this topic?
- There was only one conversation, and it involved two articles on Fusae because her name can be spelled two different ways. In the end, they merged the article into the current article and linked the old page to the new one.
- How is the article rated? Is it a part of any WikiProjects?
- The page has no rating, and is part of 4 WikiProjects. (Women's History, Japan/Biography/History/Politics, Feminism, and Biography/Politics and Government)
- How does the way Wikipedia discusses this topic differ from the way we've talked about it in class?
The page does not differ too much from the way we discuss historical figures in class, as we have not encountered Fusae in class yet. It is much more sterile than a class discussion, though.
