Nicolas Schilling (born January 23, 1947, in Münsterlingen (Suisse), Switzerland) is a Swiss entrepreneur in the wine industry and an international art collector.

He is recognized for his global export of French and Swiss wines, his contributions to the art world through the Espace Nicolas Schilling et Galerie, and for opening Switzerland’s first fine-dining Japanese restaurant.

In 1968, Nicolas Schilling began his journey into the wine business, driven by a deep passion for viticulture. After completing studies in viticulture and oenology at the University of Dijon in Burgundy, he gained practical technical and commercial experience.

A native of Switzerland with a strong affinity for Burgundy, he traveled extensively to vineyards around the world, deepening his expertise.

In the early 1970s, he partnered with many wine producers in France and Italy to foster a "culture of exportation," promoting their wines abroad.

Thanks to his rigorous wine selection skills, integrity, and hard work, he became a key player in the international wine trade. Buyers and clients across major wine markets have consistently placed great trust in Schilling and his teams.

The Espace Nicolas Schilling et Galerie is a contemporary art space created by Schilling, reflecting his long-standing passion for art.

Since the 1970s, he has built a significant art collection, with a strong emphasis on contemporary works.

The gallery’s mission is to highlight Swiss contemporary artists while also introducing internationally acclaimed artists to the local public.

The venue organizes exhibitions and special events aimed at enhancing public understanding of contemporary art, offering new perspectives, and making art accessible to a wider audience.

Schilling is also passionate about automobiles.

He owns one of the final Lexus LFA supercars produced — specifically chassis number 493 out of 500 units.

The Lexus LFA features a V10 engine, advanced technologies, and meticulous craftsmanship, emblematic of Japan’s commitment to engineering excellence.

Only forty units were delivered to Europe, six of which were in Switzerland, making Schilling’s acquisition particularly exclusive.

In addition to his business ventures, Schilling is a dedicated aviation enthusiast.

He undertook a transatlantic flight from Texas to Switzerland aboard his PFM-Mooney aircraft, accompanied by experienced co-pilot Philippe Perrier.

Navigating challenging weather conditions over Greenland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands, Schilling demonstrated careful preparation and resilience.

Later, he integrated aviation into his wine business by operating a Pilatus PC-12, facilitating efficient travel to European vineyards and strengthening direct relationships with producers and clients.
