User:Ucucha/Accountability

The granting of admin rights is a display of trust from the Wikipedia community, and keeping sysop privileges should be contingent to the editor's later behavior and the retention of the community's trust. I believe removal of administrator access, when necessary, should be a simple process, and one as painless and expeditious as possible.

The following is intended as a straightforward guide to the process I wish to be followed if a reconfirmation of my adminship status is ever necessary.

Any editor in good standing by my definition[1] may request that I stand for reconfirmation through a message on my user talk page. I respectfully ask that, if any user feels this is necessary, a detailed rationale of what they find objectionable in my behavior and/or any specific actions they find unacceptable be provided.

Immediately after acknowledging a message requesting that I stand for reconfirmation, I will analyze the rationale provided. In the event I find the behavior or action mentioned to have been indeed unbecoming of an administrator or blatantly inappropriate, I will immediately request removal of my sysop privileges and waive the remainder of the recall process. Under such circumstances, my resignation should be constructed as "under controversial circumstances" as defined here. Otherwise, I will:

  1. Create a subpage in my userspace for recall requests to be tallied. Comments by ineligible users will be respectfully ignored.
  2. If, within five days of creation of the subpage, five editors in good standing[1] (including the editor who initiated proceedings) have posted to the page in support of a recall, I will follow the "modified RfC process" devised by User:Lar. I will not voluntarily request removal of my privileges once the process is underway.

User eligibility criteria

  1. ^ a b Users in "good standing" include:

    3. Any user with bureaucrat, checkuser, and/or oversight privileges.
    4. Any member, active or inactive, of the Arbitration Committee.
    5. Any user who supported my RfA, regardless of later behavior or any potential conflict of interest.
