Lynne Bysouth (born December 19, 1963) is a fictional character in the popular U.S. television comedy "Lynne" (1992-2001), portrayed by Meg Ryan. Lynne appeared in the Pilot epidose while moving to Manhattan after a big divorce from her husband, Kenneth. There, she lives with her old friend from college, Mary (Lauren Holly).
Childhood
Lynne was born in Baker, Louisiana to a farmers family: her father, George (Martin Sheen) was the town cheif. He often behave stupidly and naively. Her mother Claudia (Dyan Cannon) was a super model. She is very smart an cynical. In later epidoses, Lynne finds out that here mother was a playboy playmate. She also has a younger brother and a younger sister. Her younger brother, Todd (Garette Ratliff Henson), became a country singer, and her sister Mano (Tatum O'Neal) lives in San Fransisco with her husband. As a child, Lynne was very unpretentious and modest girl, who helped her parents in the housekeeping, and she used to cook jams for the family business. She knew how to cook well from young age and was always peaceful and calm. Until the moving to New York City, she never got outside of the Louisiana borders. She acheived full literature classification in the Louisiana State University.
Moving to NYC
She is not so soon getting used to the New York dating scene and lifestyle and to big city life, since living all of her life in a big ranch house in Louisianna, and is looking for silence and quiet in the commotion. When she's coming to NY, she works as a librarian and also as a clerk in Doubleday. Meanwhile, she writes her first book. After been promoted in the Doubleday job to a distributor, she is trying to publish the book. And, surprisingly she succeed. Lynne is dating some guys in the second season, topping Art Carter (Julian Sands), an amateur poet, who becomes her first myth ex-boyfriend.
Lynne and Mary
Lynne is best friends with Mary, her roomate and study friend, although they fight a lot, mostly on meaningless things. Their biggest fight was
