313 Field Regiment is part of the Regiment of Artillery of the Indian Army.
Formation and history
The regiment was raised on 07 January 1985 at Rakhmuthi with class composition of South Indian Castes (SIC), Ahirs and Hill Tribes, wherein five different units contributed the troops. Colonel SK Sharma was 1st Commanding Officer of the unit. The Regiment has been performing well in multifarious events be its operations, professional, sports or Administration tasks and proved its mettle being a podium finisher in various Brigade and Division level competitions. The Regiment served the Nation in Operationally active Northern and North Eastern Sectors. The Regiment was awarded GOC-in-C, Eastern Command Unit Citation while serving the nation in North Eastern sector.

The Regiment has operated in various terrain ranging from plains to deserts to mountains to the most inhospitable high-altitude areas. The Regiment has taken part in following operations: -
- Op MEGHDOOT : - August 1986 to September 1987.
- Op RAJEEV :- June 1987 to July 1987.
- Op RAKSHAK:- March 1992 to March 1993.
- Op RHINO: - December 1995 to September 1998.
- Op PARAKRAM : - December 2001 to December 2002.
- Op RAKSHAK-II : - August 2005 to March 2008.
- Op RAKSHAK : - August 2017 to July 2019.
