User:Suga History

Suga, previously known as Sugababies, is a British pop girl-group, and a spin-off of the UK girl group, Sugababes. The line-up currently consists of Daisy Croft, Joanne Nelson and Danielle Mason. The group made it's debut in 2006, with a different line-up consisting of Croft, Nelson and Maria Naylor, who left the group in November 2009, and was replaced by Mason a month later. All three girls were 12 when the group was started from the 2006 television series, Sugababes Present: Sugababies, in which they beat of thousands of hopefuls.

The group were originally intended to be support acts on the Sugababes 2007 "Chemistry Tour", but were signed to Polydor/Fascination Records.

Line-Up and Name Change (2009-2010)

On November 17th 2009, Maria Naylor announced she was leaving the group to concentrate on her school work. It was believed the group were going to go their separate ways when Nelson's friend Danielle Mason went with her to a management meeting to discuss the future of the group. Upon seeing Mason, their manager Hilary Shaw asked to hear her sing and it was decided 15 year old Mason would join the group in place of Naylor.

On January 4th 2010, it was announced the group had shortened their name from "Sugababies" to the more mature "Suga" but would still be following the Sugababes on their expected tour in 2010. They plan to debut their new single in May 2010.
