Sudip Kumar Chatterjee,a young tabla player of Beneras Gharana.Sudip had a deep intension to learn tabla since his childhood.he began to learn handling the finger of Prof.Nitin Chatterjee(worthy desciple of PADMABHUSAN PANDIT SAMTA PRASAD) and he also learns under the supervision of Shri Rudranarayan Kalyani(eligible desciple of PROF.SANDIP DEB,PANDIT NANKU MAHARAJ,PANDIT KISHAN MAHARAJ PADMABIBHUSAN)as well as he is a student of THE RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY in Master of Music course in Percussion Music.In the academic front he is a commerce graduate under THE UNIVERSITY OF CALCUTTA in 2005.

He achieved many prizes being selected in the positions.recently he has achieved a GOLD MEDAL being selected 1st class 1st in the ALL INDIA MERIT TEST,organised by NIKHIL BHARAT SANGEET SAMITY, and also achieved a SILVER MEDAL being selected 2nd in another ALL INDIA MERIT TEST,organised by SARBA BHARATIYA SANGEET O SANSKRITI PARISHAD.He also achieved USTAAD KERAMAT ULLAH KHAN MEMORIAL TROPHY in 2005,he achieved the MAYA MITRA MEMORIAL INSTRUMENTAL PRIZE(1st Prize) from SRI AUROBINDO INSTITUTE OF CULTURE,he got PROF.N.N.CHATTERJEE CHALLANGE TROPHY getting the 1st position with 1st class in THE INTER-COLLEGIATE ORIENTAL MUSIC CONTEST,organised by THE CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE,from BANGIYA SANGEET PARISHAD he achieved "SANGEET RATNA" award with 1st class.
