Samantha Lowery (born 1988) is an American arts journalist from Fredericksburg, Va.
Life and Career
Lowery graduated from the University of Virginia (U.Va.) in 2010 with a B.A. in English. Later that year, she began a Master’s degree program in Arts Journalism through the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
As an undergraduate student, Lowery wrote for The Cavalier Daily, U.Va.’s student newspaper, and worked as an editorial intern at the university’s Arts & Sciences Communications office. At The Cavalier Daily she covered student life with an emphasis on the fine arts. [1] The articles she wrote for Arts & Sciences tell the stories of prominent U.Va. alumni and their careers. [2]
Lowery’s pieces have been published in the U.Va. Politics Department newsletter, Arts & Sciences News online, The University of Virginia Magazine online and A&S Online, an extension of the U.Va. Arts & Sciences magazine.
