Steve Baumann founder of Singular Sensation Productions is a director, choreographer and performer. A former High School Teacher, JV Football coach and Varsity Wrestling Coach, Steve was also a San Francisco Policeman and San Mateo Sheriff. He has also worked as a designer, engineer Project and Program Manager, as well as Director for advanced CTI applications for companies such as Rolm, IBM, Siemens, Fujitsu, Williams Communications, NextiraOne, Black Box and Shared Technologies. Dancing came naturally to Steve. He has had the good fortune of working with many of the greatest directors and choreographers of our generation. The most well known of these are Pat Rooney, Jerome Robbins, Gower Champion, Michael Bennett, Bob Fosse, Tommy Tune, Onna White, Ron Field, Danny Daniels, Donald Sadler, Lee Becker Theodore, and Allan Johnson. He was awarded a fellowship to New York University Graduate School of the Arts (now the Tisch School) in their MFA program Numerous times Steve recreated the original direction and choreography for West Side Story, Applause, Sugar, Evita, and A Chorus Line. He also has directed and/or choreographed over 35 musical productions across the United States. He choreographed rock videos for Jeffery Osborn, Patrice Russian, Melissa Manchester, Ian Mathews and others as well as Olympic and World Champion figure skater John Curry’s Superskate VII Television routine, and the television special The Music of Your Life, with Toni Tennille, Johnny Mathis, Patti Page, and Andy Gib. A long time friend of Carol Lawrence, he choreographed her night club act featuring Michel LeGrand and her week long television appearance on the Mike Douglas Show. In 1975 Steve staged and choreographed the now legendary original Beach Blanket Babylon Goes Bananas, the longest running American musical review. Steve served as Guest Artist in Residence for four years at the University of Alabama working with Theatre and Dance Majors as well as other professionals directing and choreographing a major musical production each year for their Summerfest Program and for their yearly theatrical productions. Steve also directed and/or choreographed 4 productions for the Theatre by the Sea, the oldest summer theatre in America. Working back and forth between Baltimore, Washington, DC and Philadelphia he directed and/or choreographed over 18 musicals for K & L Productions and was honored when his picture was placed on the cover of the theatre’s advertising brochure. As a performer in musical comedy Steve has worked with the penultimate of the theatre, film and television. Lauren Bacall, Carol Channing, Carol Lawrence, Eleanor Parker, Larry Kert, Bobby Morse, Gale Gordon, Nanette Fabray, Agnes Moorehead, Alfred Drake, John Rait, Robert Goulet, Charles Pierce, Daniel Massey Beth Flower, Molly Picon, Maurice and Gregory Hines, Maria Karnilova, Allen Jones, Van Johnson, Gig Young, Joey Heatherton, Anna Maria Albergetti, Richard Chamberlain, Christopher Walken, Daryl Hickman, Jack Carter and even Joe Namath.

Steve is currently working on a musical of a sucessful novel that has sold millions of copies in 8 different languages and proposes to have it ready for Broadway in a year to 18 months.
