Samantha Sweetwater (born Samantha Beers) is an American spiritual teacher, movement facilitator, executive coach, and author. She is the founder of Dancing Freedom, a conscious-dance practice; before that she worked as an early facilitator with the BodyCartography Project in San Francisco in the late 1990s.[1][2]
Dancing Freedom is described as a somatic, ecstatic, and shamanic dance practice integrating movement, ecology, and spirituality.[3] It has been cited among conscious-dance modalities in a 2021 peer-reviewed study on psychological well-being and stress-related conditions.[4]
In a 2016 interview published on the Lucidity Festival website, Sweetwater was credited with co-founding "C.E.L.L. Space" in San Francisco, although this attribution has not been corroborated by additional independent sources.[5]
Sweetwater publishes the Substack newsletter EnLifenment and is the author of True Human: Reimagining Ourselves at the End of Our World, scheduled for release in November 2025.[6] She has appeared on podcasts including Nate Hagens’ The Great Simplification[7] and has spoken at events such as the Solarpunk Summit[8] and Integration Jam.[9]
