Dave Martone (born January 16, 1970 in Grimsby, Ontario) is a Canadian fusion guitarist and producer based out of Vancouver, British Columbia[1]. Over his career, he has performed alongside artists such as Joe Satriani, Jennifer Batten, Greg Howe, Mike Portnoy, Michael Angelo Batio, Chester Thompson, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Billy Sheehan to name a few[2]. He obtained a recording engineering diploma from Fanshawe College in 1990, and graduated from Berklee College of Music with a performance major in 1995[3]. To this day, he still conducts clinics at Berklee, which he has been doing since his graduation[4].

At the moment, Dave's solo project, Martone, which is comprised of himself, Dave Spidel, and Daniel Adair, is signed to Magna Carta Records[5]. He has worked for Tom Lee Music and National Guitar Workshop as an instructor, and continues to instruct through clinics worldwide. He has been directing the Tom Lee Music School of Rock program in Vancouver, British Columbia since 2003[6], and has hosted the 'Satch Zone' guitar instructional online lessons alongside Joe Satriani through Workshop Live[7].

From 2001 to 2011, he was a bi-monthly columnist for guitar9.com, writing about production, recording, equipment, and playing techniques[8]. Dave is endorsed by Parker Guitars, Vox (musical equipment), GHS (strings), Digitech, Cakewalk (company) and Electro-Voice[9]. He also owns and operates Brainworks Studio, located in Vancouver, British Columbia[10].
