This account is a nom de plume, created in response to one or more individuals sending me “hate mail” in real life.

The real Samuel Whittemore was a relatively obscure American who was grievously wounded and left for dead after firing on British troops returning from the opening battle of the American Revolution. If you’ve not read his story, I strongly encourage you to do so.
