Sadheer Ali
Sadheer Ali (born 1972) is an Indian expatriate community organizer, cultural activist, and political worker associated with various social, cultural, and political organizations in India and the Gulf countries, particularly Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Early life and education
Sadheer Ali was born in 1972 as the eldest son of Alikkutty Kanthathil, a native of Payyanangadi in Tirur, Malappuram district, and Ramlath Beevi, a native of Pathiripala near Ottapalam in Palakkad district, Kerala. According to available records, he studied in approximately ten educational institutions across Malappuram and Palakkad districts. His early life was divided between these regions. During his student years, he demonstrated organizational ability by bringing together polytechnic students and local youth to form community-oriented groups. He began living abroad at the age of 22.
Political activities
Sadheer Ali began his political involvement through a left-leaning student organization. He later associated with right-wing student politics along with his peers. After completing his student life, he returned to Left politics as a follower of Comrade Vasu. Subsequently, citing dissatisfaction over what he perceived as the neglect of Malappuram district by Left leadership, he shifted his political alignment. In 2017, after more than two decades of expatriate life, he dedicated his political activities to the Indian Union Muslim League through its expatriate wing in Qatar.
Art, culture, and organizational work
Sadheer Ali has been involved in writing since childhood and has written poems. During his studies, he participated in drama, poetry, and painting In 1998, he was among those involved in the formation of the Dubai-based organization One Blood One World. In 2006, he became one of the founding architects of the UAE-based Team Tirur organization In Qatar, he served as KMCC Tirur Municipal President and KMCC Tirur Constitution Vice President. In 2017 he served as the first Vice President of QTeam, an organization formed in Qatar. In 2018 he founded Team Tirur Qatar, where he has served as Chief Coordinator. He has also served as a committee member of the Malappuram District Expatriate Organization (DOM Qatar) and as General Coordinator of the Kerala Mappila Kala Academy, Qatar Chapter.
Personal life
Sadheer Ali is married to Shamlin Sadheer, daughter of Abdul Rasheed Arathodi. The couple has four children. He has three brothers and two sisters and lots of Cousins.
