Piggy is a financial technology start-up based out of Bengaluru, India. This Fintech start-up was started by a team of ex-investment bankers and tech professionals in January 2016. Less than 2 years after its inception the company graduated from the winter batch of the Y Combinator[1] seed accelerator and is also funded and mentored by it. The company was also featured in the NASSCOM 10,000 start-up[2] in 2017.

Features

Piggy allows individuals to invest in Direct Plans from over 34 Asset Management Companies (AMCs) across India. The app provides users with a curated list of top mutual funds and allows the user to monitor and manage their portfolio. The app also allows users to read news and content related to investing. Users can track their Employee Provident Funds (EPFs) as well. Additionally, Piggy provides a platform for users to create an analysis of their portfolios.

Piggy Premier

In 2019, Piggy launched Piggy Premier, their Financial Advisory Services division. Piggy Premier users are provided personal investment advisors to assist in their investments.

History

Piggy was founded by Mr. Nikhil Mantha, Mr. Ankush Singh Baedas, and Mr. Kunal Sangwan in January 2016, with the idea to build an app to help users easily manage a diverse portfolio of investments that are attractive to the average person and first-time investor. Mr. Nikhil Mantha worked for three years as an analyst, creating Data management and Analytics tools for Loan Level and Macroeconomic data for European Asset-Backed Securities for Nomura Holdings, Inc. Mr. Ankush Singh Baedas worked as an Analyst with Nomura Holdings Inc. for 2 years, prior to that he worked as a Business Analyst with Barclays Investment Bank. Mr. Kunal Sangwan is a Software Developer with over 3 years of work experience with Amazon.com, Inc.
